Don’t Mess with a Girl with a Dream

I’m sure you’ve heard “Don’t mess with Texas” thrown around. Well this is just as legit and real as that.

We dreamers. We give it all we’ve got, and then some. We don’t let nothing get in our way [bad english, I know – but I’m going for attitude here!] Even if we have to crawl, bleeding, bruised and broken over obstacles – we will do so, because sometimes dreams are all we’ve got and they are worth fighting for!

They are the light that help us push through the darkness. And when we get to that light, it feels so darn good! Like scream at the top of your lungs on the top of a mountain while holding an ice cream cone with an enchanted unicorn at your side good! And even once we reach those mountaintop experiences, we don’t stop. [We can’t stop, and we won’t stop – oh Miley.] In those moments we start to create new dreams. This is what success is. This is how we live life to the fullest.

And then there’s those times when God’s dreams and our dreams align. Well then my friend, then you better watch out.

In those moments, deep in faith, fully trusting in God’s plan and your own desires – you can feel it. THIS IS IT. THIS DREAM IS GONNA HAPPEN. So you don’t just bet a little. YOU BET IT ALL. ALL IN. ‘CAUSE YOUR DREAM HORSE IS GONNA WIN! And people will think you’re crazy, because that’s what they do. Let them be entertained. Let them run their race – while – you run your race.

Last night I watched Dreamer, which I haven’t watched for many a years. But that movie is about my heart. My longings. My desire. And I couldn’t help beaming from time to time as I reminded myself “I live in Kentucky.” “I’m here.” “This is gonna happen.” “I LIVE IN KENTUCKY!” 🙂

DREAMS DO COME TRUE. Don’t let anyone, ever, convince you otherwise.

DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART. [Psalm 37:4]

“You are a great champion. When you ran, the ground shook, the sky opened and mere mortals parted. Parted the way to victory, where you’ll meet me in the winner’s circle, where I’ll put a blanket of flowers on your back.” -Dreamer [2005]
